After being in a car accident the other day ((vlog on YouTube)), I’ve been struggling heavily with PTSD symptoms (on top of my already existing C-PTSD) and since the weather was 68°F and sunny, I decided it was best to just take a long walk by the water in Tioga County, NY and look for cool rocks.

My special interests have always helped to keep me emotionally regulated during stressful times. Rockhounding is a relatively new one for me, but I’m learning VERY quickly.

Rockhounding after the thaw – March 2025 vlog

I didn’t show ALL of the stones I found in the vlog, just the more noteworthy ones.. I’m always picking up faerie stones, too.

Here are the more unique finds:

The rocks are very interesting. I have collected some rocks, mostly for the shapes and sparkles, lol. I will look at them differently now.
Wishing you the best for your recovery.

I am so sorry to hear of your accident! I hope you feel better soon. Your finds are wonderful! I’ve never done rockhounding before — all my crystals are store-bought. I do pick up the occasional rock but nothing like these beauties. I never imagined you could find such nice specimens. I like all of them but that shell one? It looks a little like a bird to me! I really like the peach moonstone and the green aventurine. Thank you for your “likes” — I am so glad you did, because now I found your blog and I can tell I’m going to enjoy reading about your adventures. Take care 🙂

I had no idea this even existed! I’ve picked up a few stones over the years but these are gorgeous. Good way to feed your soul after a traumatic experience (I’ve also had a few car accidents ;-)).
