While on our return trip from today’s hiking adventure (posts coming soon), the SO and I stopped at this scenic overlook to order food for pickup, so it’d be ready when we got back… and of course I had to step out of the car and get some photos.

You can see the sky is a bit hazy– a result of the Canadian wildfires. The air quality today isn’t great, but not awful…. I really hate to see it though.

“The dam was constructed by the US Army Corps of Engineers to prevent reoccurrence of disastrous and tragic flooding such as in 1935. Work begun in 1938 was completed in 1942 at a cost of 5.42 million federal dollars. It has since saved many millions of dollars by preventing flood damage nearby and downstream in the Susquehanna River valley.”
