Not last weekend (that was the No Kings protest), but the weekend before, the SO and I took a trip up to Cazenovia, New York to see Chittenango Falls after several days of rain — the BEST time to go!

This place is pretty small as far as NY state parks go, but BEAUTIFUL! It also appears to be popular with foreign tourists, much like Watkins Glen State Park, so be mindful of that when you go, if you want to avoid the crowds.

(It wasn’t too packed when we went, and everyone was very polite, minding personal space and taking turns at the photo spots, and of course, cleaning up after themselves. Love that. Good job, guys.)

Chittenango Falls is not only beautiful, but also in an area where a lot of fossils from prehistoric sea creatures can be found, as well as current home to rare snail and plant species.

[…] trip was actually much earlier in the month – the same day the SO and I went to Chittenango Falls State Park – and I hadn’t gotten around to finishing this post when more time-sensitive content […]

Beautiful! I want to go there now! I’ve been to Robert Truman, that was pretty too and have heard lots of people talk about how nice Watkins Glen is
