Earlier this week, the SO and I took a trip out to Amherst, MA to see Dinosaur Jr with friends, and go on a few other side quests during our visit.
We crammed so much into just a couple days that I have to break up the trip coverage into two posts. For my sanity. LOL
The weather was perfect for this trip. Sunny, and VERY hot, but we weren’t feeling the heat in the car, and the scenery was beautiful the entire way.

It was only a 3.5-4 hour trip, with a pit stop after crossing the NY/MA border.

After checking into our hotel, we decided to grab some food in Amherst, before later heading out to S. Deerfield for the concert.
We stopped at 110 Grill for a late lunch, which was excellent. Definitely recommend.
What I ate:
- Ty’s Tropical Vacation (cocktail)
- BBQ Chicken Nachos

Next, we drove out to the Yankee Candle Village in South Deerfield, where the concert park and ride system was set up.
This is where we were to meet up with friends, but we had some extra time, so we wandered around one of the shops for a while. I smelled SO MANY candles. And I did well — I stuck to my plan of only buying ONE. (As an ADHD person, prone to making impulsive purchases, I’m proud of that.)
Friends had arrived by the time we were done, and after taking my new candle to the car, we hopped on a bus. They were using a fleet of school busses, which we found entertaining. And off we went to Tree House Brewing Company.
I love this venue! The atrium is super nice, and a short hallway leads to the outdoor stage, etc out back. I forgot to take photos (socializing and stuff), but I made sure to include it in my vlog (above).

After a short while, we made our way out to the lawn to see the show. We missed the opening act, and arrived about halfway through the second, which, I liked them, but I never caught their name.
And then the headliner, Dinosaur Jr (Wikipedia), local to Amherst, took the stage until about 9:30p. Good show. Glad we went.
After, we were led back to the busses we came in on, and shuttled back to our vehicles. The whole system was so efficient that, even after goodbyes, we were headed back to our hotel by 10p. Awesome.
It didn’t take me long to pass out once we returned. It was a long, action-packed day, and the bed was so comfortable…
