I recently took a trip to an incredible small preserve with the SO – Great Gully in Union Springs, NY.
It was so nice to return, however, with the drought in New York, the water flow was lacking, even after a day of rain.. but we still had waterfalls. Kind of.
The one cool thing about the lower water level is that you can see how it flows through the rocks better.
Karst topography is a landscape formed by the chemical dissolution of soluble rocks, primarily limestone, by slightly acidic water, leading to distinctive features like sinkholes, caves, disappearing streams, and underground drainage systems. These geological processes create irregular surfaces and a unique hydrogeology where surface water quickly seeps underground, forming productive but vulnerable aquifers. [From Google]

I love watching the leaves change colors in October. The northeast US truly has some of the most beautiful autumns you’ll ever see.
