Previously: Glamping at Letchworth State Park – Day 2
Day 3 at Letchworth started early, as checkout was at 11a, and we had to pack up the car and return the cabin key by then. (We were on time. Technically 5 minutes early by the time we got down to the office.)
And then we went to explore more of the park before before hitting the road.. because why leave right away?
We absolutely had to stop and visit the Autism Nature Trail (ANT).
As a late-diagnosed neurospicy adult who struggled heavily over the years due to lack of important social and educational supports, I found this place to be so healing.

I loved every part of the Autism Nature Trail! It’s a 1 mile loop, with a cut-through trail for more accessibility. And so very well cared for. (You can see a lot more of it in the vlog above!)
After, we took our time driving toward the top end of the park, stopping one last time to see the gorge (end of vlog), though that happened to be the time when the park staff started draining the porta potty across the road (you can hear it). The SO and I tried to get one last selfie together, right as the stench overtook the area, and I just couldn’t hide my disgust in the photos. LOL It was so bad!
We ran back to the car and continued driving, realizing how big this park actually is.. we only explored a small part of it.

We stopped to see the Mount Morris Dam at the north end of the park, and we could really see how the storm blew the leaves off the trees during our stay. And as for the foliage that remained, it was now officially past peak colors. The transition was amazing to watch.
This was the end of our visit… and the beginning of plans for future trips, to explore the rest of the park.
Letchworth, you are truly incredible. And immediately became one of my favorite parks. I can’t wait to return.
