I have a confession. I’ve been so busy with the moving process that I’ve been neglecting my outside time, and I can tell it’s starting to affect my mental health in subtle ways.

The solution? Shopping! (I’m kidding, but getting out and walking more changes everything.)

So I pulled up Google Maps and wandered a couple miles down to the shopping plazas where our local Goodwill is located.

What I wore:

What I found:

Express military-inspired blazer, black ($7.99)

I was there digging through the clothing for over an hour, and I’m glad I took the extra time because there were some great treasures in my size.

Have you thrifted anything interesting lately?

I found a great cocktail sheath, ruffled details, V-neck, sleeveless, knee length for $12. I wore it to my niece’s wedding. Also found a chest with six drawers. It had stickers all over (likely a teenager’s bedroom piece). But it was mahogany. I stripped it down and used Minwax to restore the sheen. Cost was $35 plus the Minwax. Also found sheer drapery panels for $4 each that I fashioned into a sort of canopy for my bed. I found braided rope with tassels on the ends at Marshall’s and used them as tie-backs.
