Letchworth State Park glamping blogsDay 1  》 Day 2  》Day 3

I had such an incredible time staying in a cabin at Letchworth State Park in Wyoming County, NY for the SO’s birthday, which happened to fall on the same day when the autumn foliage was at its peak. It couldn’t have been any more perfect! (Aside from the storm the first night, but that wasn’t an issue for us.)

As you’d expect from late October in New York, it was chilly! I’m glad I packed extra clothes, just in case.

Our cabin site was gorgeous! And the fireplace kept us warm during those cold nights.

It was the next day that we hiked the lower part of Gorge Trail with the waterfalls… and it was stunning!

We also made a point to check out the Autism Nature Trail (Day 3), which is absolutely fantastic.

I love the work that was put into it!

There are laminated trail maps and communication boards [for those who are nonverbal, etc] available at the trailhead, as well as a QR code if you prefer to access the map with your phone.

And then we drove northeast through the park on our way out, realizing just how big the park is, and lots of other areas to return and explore… because we only saw the main attractions on this trip.

Beautiful!

I had an amazing time and can’t wait to be back. See you next year, Letchworth!

~25 years ago, I was a teenager keeping a diary on LiveJournal.. “blog” and “blogging” weren’t even words yet. No one was making money from their work. At that time, it was a journey of self discovery and having a little place on the web I could call my own. I’ve experimented with different platforms over the years and learned to code, SEO, etc. After some time, I built several niche blogs and later sold them, mostly because my PASSION is not in it, and my mental health also suffered.. but it was profitable! Now I blog in a way that is healthier for me– I detach and go live my life (while photo documenting the highlights, and that gets easier with practice), and really relish the moment, take time to feel the feels. And then later, I come back to reflect in the act of writing that next post, and share the joy I experienced. That separation between digital and nature is what keeps my head straight, and I’ve had to create firm boundaries with myself in maintaining that. I’m also in therapy, so there’s that too. 💖

Oh thanks. this sounds super much like me . In write since 2016 first for fun, and then I started loving it – for myself – as a place to self express. Then I stated offering or wanted to offer my work, and it drained my metnal health. I now focus – on not eaerning money with it – to take pressure away, and I can slowly breath , feel my text and see myself also again. I am also in therapy where I learn about it ! MAybe not now, I can see us blogging toegehr in the future. My focus on SEO / has ruined my writing as well – in the past it did th emagic, when I didn’t focus on it . however, then I got anxiety, becaues of it. I also don’t know what my passion is yet – often where life is at right now .
