After spending a quiet afternoon wandering the galleries at the Everson Museum of Art, we headed just a short distance for dinner at The Preserve at 405 — a polished but comfortable spot that felt like the perfect way to ease out of museum mode and into the evening.
If you’re planning a Syracuse day trip or looking for an elevated dinner option that still feels relaxed, this pairing works beautifully.

A Cozy, Elevated Dinner Spot in Syracuse, NY
The Preserve at 405 strikes a nice balance between refined and approachable. The dining room feels warm and intentional — not rushed, not overly formal — which made it ideal after a slow, reflective afternoon at the museum.
This is the kind of place that works equally well for a casual date night, a celebratory dinner, or a “let’s just enjoy the moment” kind of evening.
What We Ordered
Pear Pressure (Seasonal Cocktail)
I started with the Pear Pressure, one of their seasonal cocktails, made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, pear, orange liqueur, white cranberry juice, and house-made sour. It was light, slightly tart, and well-balanced — refreshing without being too sweet, and a great opener before food arrived.

Bacon-Wrapped Scallops
The scallops were wrapped in bacon and served with a blueberry jalapeño jam that added just enough sweetness and heat. Rich without being heavy, and easily one of the standout dishes of the night.

Prime Rib Sliders
The prime rib sliders were thinly sliced and tender, topped with caramelized onions and provolone cheese. Comforting, savory, and filling without feeling overdone — exactly what I want from a slider plate.

Sweet Potato Fries
Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and a perfect side to round everything out.
