What a busy month!

The SO and I moved to a new home with our two kitties, we’ve mostly settled in with the basics now, and will be busting arse moving the last of my stuff over the next couple of days.. and then that’s it. All loose ends will be tied up.

We moved into our new home at the start of the month.

Yesterday was American Thanksgiving, and I had a wonderful time with family (despite my exhaustion). There was so much food, all of which was fantastic, and it was nice to see everyone again.

I unfortunately forgot to wear my Loop ear plugs though, so now I’m feeling the effects of overstimulation, and am just mentally exhausted.

It’s not you, it’s me. Everything was perfect.

How to use ankle weights in home workouts, what to know about using ankle weights, wearable fitness gear
I started using ankle weights in my workouts.

We unfortunately have not had the time, nor decent weather on the days we could, to get out and hike AT ALL this month (OMG!), but I’ve been pushing through here with little walks, home workouts (using ankle weights), music (GLIMMERS), thrift shopping (1, 2) and just general busyness.

Despite the exhaustion and overwhelm, I love it and am thankful for this transition. It’s that necessary next step I’d been manifesting for the last couple of years.

Change isn’t supposed to be easy. It’s supposed to challenge you so you can grow into something greater.

I’m almost done with this part, I have help, and there will be plenty of time for rest soon enough.

What I’m loving right now:

quiet mornings ☆ caramel hot chocolate (I use a Keurig K-Express and the Price Chopper store brand K-cups) ☆ journaling ☆ big windows with a forest view ☆ visits from the local wildlife ☆ first snowfall of the season ☆ watching the cats play together ☆ cozy season has begun!

making a space that was being reclaimed by nature into a home, one day at a time ☆ donating old clothing, bags, shoes, etc that no longer align but others will love them ☆ setting up my new, bigger closet / office space – it’s a tiny room but a lot of magic will happen in there ✨️

I tried Dave’s Hot Chicken for the first time. (It’s so good!)

that feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day when you achieve more than you expected ☆ and the feelings of self empowerment from working through those mental roadblocks – it’s a practice ☆ knowing the stress will be over soon enough ☆ and that December is going to be an AMAZING month! (I’ll be 40 on the 20th)

Music release: GLIMMERS ✨️ album + relaxing candle on an overcast day [relax, meditate, gratitude, spiritual awakening]

Life is pretty great here. 💖

Some people (like my wife) will never get it, but I totally relate to your exhaustion from too much socialising. I consider myself to be well over to the “solitary thinker” side rather than the “noisy socialiser” side of the scale. My wife is the opposite and while it is great that as a team, in that I make sure the practical things are done – like putting fuel in her car, and she makes sure I have some social contact. But at time I have to disappear into my workshop for some ‘me’ time and let her go to yet another social event. – Oh and I just thank and ignore the well-meaning people who tell me I would be much happier if I was like them.

Quiet mornings with caramel hot chocolate sounds like an excellent way to start the day. 😉

Too muc socializing can be exhausting. At those points I long for a quiet place to curl up with a coffee. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving anyway. Allan
